I'm a visual effects artist working as a compositor in Los Angeles. I started out experimenting with lightsaber effects on clips I'd film in the backyard and it kind of got out of hand. I quickly decided to specialize in rotoscoping as a means of getting into the industry, and I was working on Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by the time I was 22. By 2013, however, I burned myself out and became quite disillusioned with visual effects and sought other ventures, which landed me in web design and development. I quickly picked up on a handful of programming languages, but within a year or two, found the allure of film calling me again.
I decided I'd more actively pursue compositing this time, and within months of quitting my web design job, purchased my own copy of Nuke and brought my love of Python along for the ride. A year-and-a-half into this new foray landed me at Digital Domain. Several flights back and forth between my home state of Nebraska and about 9 months later, I became a resident of LA. I'm now bouncing between studios and work from home, mostly doing compositing work but still occasionally taking up a roto shot here and there.
Please feel free to poke around at my most recent work, and drop me a line if you'd like to enlist my services.
